Located slightly north of the Dulles Toll Road, Reston Town Center is affectionately known as “Reston’s downtown”. For several years, Reston Town Center has been the place where visitors go to enjoy an entire day of fun.
I have been going to this town center since my family moved down here in the mid-1990s. In this blog, we go over the best shops, restaurants, and events at this incredible town center.
Northern Virginia Shopping
One of my favorite things to do at the town center is go shopping. When you’re creating an itinerary for your visit to Reston Town Center, make sure to carve out time to shop. The town center boasts 50 shops including upscale clothing stores, national retail stores, trendy boutique shops, and so much more.
South Moon Under
When it comes to trendy boutiques at the town center, South Moon Under has you covered. South Moon Under proudly offers an extensive array of men’s and women’s clothing, from casual wear to more refined styles.
I enjoy shopping at this trendy boutique store when I need something cute and unique for a cocktail party, outdoor wedding, and even a trip to the vineyard.
Mayflowers Floral Studio
Mayflowers is an amazing flower shop that offers beautiful, professional-quality floral designs. Whenever my husband wants to show me that he loves me, he gets me Gerbera Daisies from Mayflowers. Gerbera Daisies are my favorite flowers.
My husband will also order beautiful flowers from here whenever there is a special event. Mayflowers is committed to providing the finest arrangements for a wide variety of occasions including funeral, birthday, anniversary, get well, and many more.
I also love Mayflowers’ old-fashioned customer service. The extremely friendly staff is always eager to assist my husband and I with our floral needs.
World-Class Restaurants in Reston, VA
After spending an entire day shopping, you may be craving a delicious meal from the best restaurants in Reston. A day full of shopping always makes me hungry. The good news is that the town center has every type of restaurant you can possibly imagine. Regardless of the type of cuisine, you’re desiring, there is always a restaurant cooking up something great for you.
Uncle Julio’s
Uncle Julio’s is a great place to eat if you’re craving Mexican food. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Reston. This exceptional Mexican eatery is most known for its unique, handcrafted recipes made with the freshest ingredients.
Many people fall in love with the quesadillas and Tex-Mex enchiladas. I personally recommend the Guadalajara, which is a tasty dish that features steak and chicken fajitas as well as jumbo bacon-wrapped shrimp. The Guadalajara also comes with Mexican rice, handmade tortillas, and traditional pinto beans. You won’t be disappointed with this Mexican dish.
Clyde’s
Serving American food in a family atmosphere, Clyde’s is often the first choice among many visitors of this dynamic urban destination. At Clyde’s, you’ll only find sustainable and locally-raised food, from signature salads to a variety of meat-based entrees.
I know that the restaurant’s burgers and sandwiches are always a hit, whether you order the bacon cheeseburger, Cubano, or jumbo crab cake. All of the burgers and sandwiches are served with French fries, a small salad, and fruit.
Don’t leave without enjoying dessert. The warm apple crumble is truly unforgettable.
Fun Community Events
The town center is always praised for hosting many great community events throughout the year. These events are a great opportunity for you to enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. Here are a couple of great community events that you won’t want to miss.
Northern Virginia’s Fine Arts Festival
Every year, the town center hosts Northern Virginia’s Fine Arts Festival, which is my favorite community event. In the past several years, this incredible fine arts festival has attracted people from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and beyond.
The event features talented artists from all over to provide a true arts-focused experience. I really enjoy viewing the sculptures and paintings.
Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting
The town center prides itself in bringing the holiday spirit to the community with its annual Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting event. I have many great memories of attending this festive event the day after Thanksgiving.
When you come to this event, you’ll be a part of a large crowd that’s entertained by marching bands, dancers, and Santa.
The event usually ends with a tree lighting in the evening. Before leaving, be sure to enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride.
