Grazie Nonna and Grazie Grazie Are Sharing One Corner at RTC Next, and the Sign Permit Is In

Grazie Grazie filed for a sign permit on Oct. 18 at 1951 Opportunity Way in Reston Town Center, according to Fairfax County’s PLUS records. The application is in review. Grazie Grazie is the Italian deli sibling of Grazie Nonna, the red-sauce Italian restaurant from the same owner, and both are coming to the same space.

The Reston Town Center directory lists Grazie Nonna and Grazie Grazie as two separate coming-soon listings, but they share one address and one build-out.

One building permit covers both restaurants

The county issued one tenant build-out permit, ALTC-2025-01958, under the project name “Grazie Nonna/ Grazie Grazie.” It describes a new restaurant with a commercial kitchen, a bar, restrooms, dining rooms on the ground floor and on an interior mezzanine, and an outdoor “summer garden bar” on the west side of the space. Electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits filed this summer under the Grazie Nonna name are all issued.

The space is a ground-floor corner of the building that holds the AC Hotel and Residence Inn, at Opportunity Way and Inspiration Street in RTC Next. A site plan described by FFXnow in July 2025 put both concepts in one 5,609-square-foot suite. Paris Baguette opened in June across Opportunity Way from the hotel.

Grazie Nonna does pasta and pizza, and Grazie Grazie does hoagies

Casey Patten, who founded the Taylor Gourmet sandwich chain, opened Grazie Grazie at the Wharf in 2019. It now has shops downtown and in Ballston, and its menu centers on Italian hoagies such as the 8+1, a chopped Italian and a shaved ribeye cheesesteak, along with salads, cannoli and cookies.

Grazie Nonna opened in 2022 on 15th Street NW in downtown D.C., with chef Gerald Addison in the kitchen. Its menu runs to pizza, pasta, chicken piccata and whole branzino, with a weekend brunch. Grazie Nonna has a beer and wine license application pending with Virginia ABC for the Reston location.

No opening date has been announced

Early reports aimed for spring 2026, and What Now D.C. reported in August that the Reston restaurant was expected this fall. A sign permit often comes late in a build-out. The county still has to approve it, and the restaurant still needs a health permit and an occupancy permit before it can open.

The Grazie corner joins a busy stretch of new and coming restaurants at Reston Town Center, including Dogfish Head Alehouse and Guapo’s Mar y Tierra. For residents of the apartments and condos around Reston Town Center, a full-service Italian restaurant and a sandwich counter under one roof add two kinds of meals within walking distance.
