Clyde’s Restaurant Group now expects to open Ebbitt House, its new restaurant at 1860 Reston Row Plaza at Reston Station, in early November. The restaurant’s own website gives “early November 2026,” and a representative told The Burn the team is aiming for about the first week of November. The Burn also reported on Oct. 11 that the sign is up.

In August, an Ebbitt House spokesperson told FFXnow the restaurant was on track for October. When Comstock announced the lease in March 2023, it projected a 2025 opening. As of Oct. 15, Ebbitt House’s application for a Virginia ABC license, the state permit to serve alcohol, still showed as pending.

The name and the raw bar come from Old Ebbitt Grill

Old Ebbitt Grill, the Clyde’s restaurant near the White House, traces its name to an 1856 Washington boarding house called the Ebbitt House. Clyde’s owners bought the grill at auction in 1970. The Reston restaurant takes back the original name, and its about page says it will have its own menu and its own room.

Ebbitt House has not posted a menu. The restaurant describes classic American cooking: a raw bar for oysters, housemade pastas, seafood, steaks, burgers and plates for sharing, with martinis and wine to drink. Hours are not posted either.

The dining room seats 275 and the covered patio seats 125

The dining room holds just over 275 people, with two indoor bars and two private dining rooms. Outside, a covered patio seats 125 around its own bar. Studio K of Chicago designed the space, pairing classic details with a lighter palette, according to the restaurant. The private events page says groups can also reserve the outdoor bar and patio.

Two Clyde’s of Reston veterans run the floor and the kitchen

Clyde’s of Reston closed on May 21, 2022, after 31 years at Reston Town Center. At the time, the company said it was looking at another Reston location, and Comstock announced the Reston Station lease in March 2023.

General Manager Ajay Bhatia and Executive Chef Diego Ramirez both worked at Clyde’s of Reston. Bhatia has more than 40 years in hospitality. Ramirez also cooked at Clyde’s of Georgetown.

Reston Station keeps adding tenants around the Metro plaza

Ebbitt House faces the JW Marriott across the plaza at Reston Station, Comstock’s development around the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station. Founding Farmers and Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse already operate there, and the Tous Les Jours bakery has opened on Reston Row. FFXnow reports that an indoor golf simulator from Back Nine Golf is also coming. Reston Station’s directory still lists Ebbitt House as coming soon.

Homes at Reston Station include rentals such as the 419-unit BLVD Haley, finished this year, and condominiums in the JW Marriott Residences. Reston Station and Reston Town Center each sit on a Silver Line stop, and each has a walkable restaurant core. Clyde’s left one in 2022 and is opening Ebbitt House in the other. If you are comparing homes in the two, reach out and we can walk you through the buildings around each station.
