Huey Magoo’s, a chicken tenders chain based in Florida, is building its first Virginia restaurant at Arrowbrook Centre in Herndon, off Centreville Road just south of Route 267. The Burn reported the lease back in April, and construction is now underway, with the company targeting a December opening.
The chain calls its tenders “the filet mignon of chicken”
Huey Magoo’s started in Orlando in 2004 and now runs more than 70 locations, mostly across the eastern United States, putting it in the same lane as Raising Cane’s and Zaxby’s. The menu centers on chicken tenders, bites and sandwiches, with salads, crinkle-cut fries and fresh-cut chips on the side. The Herndon location will run about 2,100 square feet.
Four local investors signed the lease
LSRD Hospitality LLC, a group of four Northern Virginia residents, holds the lease and has said it plans to open more Huey Magoo’s locations around Loudoun and Fairfax counties. This will be their first.
Arrowbrook Centre is filling its last open spaces
Huey Magoo’s lease left Arrowbrook Centre fully leased, according to The Burn’s April report. Paris Baguette and Peter Chang’s already operate there, and NH44 Indian Brewing Company opened nearby at the same center earlier this year. Buyers and renters looking at new construction near Innovation Center Metro will have one more restaurant within walking distance by winter.
No confirmed opening date yet, but the company is targeting December
